Review from our Frosty Hog 2020 Event

Well it’s another one for the history books!

This year’s Frosty Hog proved to be one of the most challenging ever!  The Staff of South Shore Cyclery wants to thank the nearly 90 registered riders who helped to make this year’s event a success.  There was a lot of fun for riders and spectators alike.  We also want to thank all our shop friends who volunteered to help orchestrate the event. We simply couldn’t do it without them, and we are already busy planning for the 8th Annual Frosty Hog next year!!

If you have any suggestions that might help us make this even better please email us at: frostyhog@southshorecyclery.com

Below you will find the team finishing order.  Our congrats go out to Team Hamm for winning the event and chalking-up 19 laps in 1-1/2 hours.  Close behind in second place was Team Cubby’s on the same lap with Hamm but still just a few seconds behind!

Frosty Hog 2015 was Fun!  Join us this year for a great time!

South Shore Frosty Hog

We were blessed by the bountifulness of snow, then by the graces of nice weather on Saturday, February 7th. The event took place behind the Kelly Senior Center in beautiful Warnimont Park, which gathered snowshoers and fatbikers for the day's action.

Two races took place, a relay race & solo race consisting of 94 riders total and approximately 30 more spectators to cheer on and ring the bells that created the momentum and comraderie to keep the riders rolling.

A huge thank you goes out to Bob Dumke for creating our one-of-a-kind scoreboard and keeping us in check and to our scorekeepers, Steve's dad, Russ & stepmother Lisa Whitford, Kevin & Ashley Karbowski, and Kate Valerius for yelling out team numbers. Chef Greg for making over 100 sausages and 15 lbs. of potatoes for fuel. Our route marshals, Dan Sawyer, Carla Losin, Brian, & Tim for directing riders and ensuring the safety throughout the course.

We appreciate all those who participated in the event! It was so great to see so many riders and so many fat bikes in attendance. We do this for the love of the ride and the beauty it holds with every outing. We look forward to giving you another wonderful event next year.
