The Alpha Trail in Whitnall Park in Franklin Wisconsin was the first legal mountain bike trail in Milwaukee County.  The Alpha Trail is a narrow single-track  trail apporoximately 3-miles that stretches from the Winter Sports Area of Whitnall Park that heads eastward to the Crystal Ridge area of the Root River Parkway. 

Trailhead: 6740 S. 92 St.mi

Difficulty:  Intermediate

Terrain:  Easy to moderate single-track trails with a moderate climb and a downhill ride off the ski area. Trails near river can be muddy.

Fees / Permits:  None

Scenery:  Along the Root River, lay precious wooded areas combined with open land near ski hill.

Trail Markings:  Alpha Trail has directional signs at key intersection.
